Houston Ayurveda Doctor: Dr. Rob Francis
Dr. Rob Francis empowers others to restore, improve and maintain their health with natural holistic methods by balancing mind, body and spirit with their environment using the clinically proven ancient principles of Ayurveda.
In addition to his private Ayurvedic wellness practice, Dr. Francis is Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Department of Family Medicine He also serves on the Core Curriculum Committee for a pioneering federally funded educational grant from the National Institutes of Health to teach Complementary and Alternative Medicine to medical students.
Dr. Francis also holds medical staff appointments at Houston area hospitals, is clinical proctor at Vista Medical Center Hospital, holds current clinical teaching faculty appointments at the American Academy of Physical and Manual Medicine, International MUA Academy of Physicians, and Texas Chiropractic College where he also serves as Course Director for the Division of Post Graduate Studies training physicians in Manipulation Under Anesthesia at teaching hospitals around the US and in Europe.
Dr. Francis is an internationally invited speaker and has presented numerous professional presentations in Europe and North America as well as locally in the Houston area to the medical staff at the Baylor College of Medicine, The University of Texas Health Science Center at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and Rice University.
He has authored and co-authored numerous clinical publications in professional journals and is former Dean of Clinical Sciences and Director of Institutional Research at Texas Chiropractic College. He has served on numerous boards including professional associations, academic institutions and civic and community organizations.
Dr. Francis’ extensive training in Natural Healthcare includes training with the world’s leading experts in Ayurvedic Medicine and Pulse Diagnosis including Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. David Frawley, Dr. Vasant Lad, Dr. John Douillard and Dr. Robert Svoboda. Upon completion of the Physician’s Training Course in Ayurvedic Medicine at MIU’s College of Ayurvedic Medicine, Dr. Francis served as Director of the Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine and currently holds membership in the National Ayurvedic Medical Association.
Dr. Francis has been invited to the Annual International Congress on Complementary Therapies in Medicine in Washington, D.C. and the International Wellness Conference where he has presented papers and lectured on Alternative Interventions in Healthcare, Manual Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology of Ayurvedic Herbs. Dr. Francis is a regular invited speaker at the Annual Texas Yoga Retreat at Barsana Dham in Austin, Texas and has also been invited to Europe where he presented physician certification courses in alternative hospital based procedures.
