Houston Massage Therapist: Patti Boyd, RMT
It is wonderful to be able to say, I have found in life what I love to do and what I love to do is therapeutic massage. Touch is very important to the mortal soul and when I see people stressed or distressed from muscle fatigue, my first thought is: “I think I could help them.” I hesitate to speak since not everyone is receptive to a stranger's unsolicited comments. I want people to know that sometimes, what we need more than anything is time to ourselves, to be still and to breathe. I believe the best place for this solitude is a massage table.
I graduated from the European Institute for Massage Therapy in Houston, TX in 1996. After successfully completing the state exam, I set out to find a job. Many new graduates begin their career at salons and I am no exception. I have worked at Neiman-Marcus in the Galleria, Olympia Day Spa, Salon Elegant, Josephines Salon and Day Spa, Tovas and Jacques Dessange Salon and Spa. Over the years I have also developed and maintained a successful private practice.
I am an active member of the Texas Association of Massage Therapists and a member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals. Each year my goal is to complete a minimum of 10 hours of continuing education courses that have included the Mopractic technique, I am a certified esthetician, and I have studied the Weinkauf Method of Integrated Body Work with the originator, Ricke Weinkauf.
